How to Receive Payments from Advertisers
There are several methods of receiving payments from advertisers on your website. All these methods normally have their advantages and disadvantages, hence it is left for the webmaster to decide on which of the methods to use. It is also wise to use methods that will not be too expensive for your advertisers in order for them not to seek alternatives. This will help the website owners to retain such businesses instead of losing it. Most webmasters however, provide a variety of options for prospective and existing advertisers to use for their payments. Some of these methods are discussed below.
1. Payment Processors
The use of payment processors is one of the most common methods of receiving and sending payments online today. The webmaster will have to set up a shopping cart on their website with the various advert options. Whenever a prospective advertiser selects the advert placement options they want, the payment page then opens automatically where the advertiser will fill out their details and make payments. Some of the details that will be required for payment will include that type of credit/debit card used, and billing information. Once all the information is provided the payment is deducted from the advertisers account and transferred to the webmaster’s account. Some of the common payment processors include-: Paypal, Alertpay, MasterCard, JCB, VISA, etc.
2. Electronic Transfer
This is another simple method that can be used in receiving payments from advertisers. It is also said to be cheap since no charges are made to the sender and receiver of funds especially if the transfer is within the same bank network. This can also be very fast and reliable in terms of security of the transactions. The webmaster may just have to provide their account details for advertisers who may desire to use this option to pay for their advertisements.
3. Bank Checks
Another method that can be used is to make check payments for the advertisements to the webmaster’s account. Some people do not really like this method because involves an extra cost of mailing the check to the recipient, and banks may also charge one or both parties involved in the transaction especially if the two different banks are involved in the process. Another thing about this method which a number of people do not like is the security of the check. The check can get missing in transit or it may take some time for it to be cashed. However, there are people who still prefer this option. It is left for everybody to pick the option they want.
